When this tree was planted, it was on council land and too close to a resident’s home.
Because it is fenced in, it appears to be in her garden, but it isn’t – this is council land and it’s the council’s responsibility to maintain it.
Sadly, its proximity to her house means that every autumn her roof is coated with a thick carpet of insect ridden leaves and because of this her guttering gets blocked.
After the council cleared the guttering there was still a thick carpet of leaves on the grass in front of her home spreading to on to the road and neighbouring gardens.
On seeing this, Councillor Tony Nicholson, stepped up to clear them away. He said, “I couldn’t believe it when I noticed just how many insects covered the leaves.
Hopefully, now that the leaves are gone those pesky insects will have disappeared with them and the resident will be much happier, till next year”
